According to Charter, the main document, regulating the work of the Association of Young Leaders, president is the head of the organization. President is democratically elected by the members of the organizations at the special annual conference held to hear reports and elect new president for next year. The president is elected from several candidates by secret ballot with the simple majority of the votes.

• Philip Lupov / May, 1995 – June, 1996;
• Anatoliy Strokov / June, 1996 – June, 1997;
• Alina Pushkova / June, 1997 – June, 1998;
• Irina Gustova / June, 1998 – June, 2000;
• Anna Timofeeva / June, 2000 – December, 2001;

Ekaterina Sherer was elected AYL president on the 15th of December 2001. Ekaterina is a student of North-West Academy of State Service, she studies and lives in Saint Petersburg.

The current activity of the organization is run by the Executive Board headed by the Executive Director. Besides the director, there are three program coordinators, bookkeeper, LAN administrator and office-manager working in the office.

Thanks to the support from the Russian Academy of Science, System Analysis Institute and personally academician Velikhov E.P. the Association of Young Leaders has an office. Office space is used for work of the personnel, staff meetings and preparation for all the events organized by Interregional and Moscow Association of Young Leaders.

Recently Moscow office has become an informational center, providing communication with all AYL regions and methodical support for its members and active participants. Quick and constant access to Internet and a number of modern computers give office and staff members opportunity not only to use e-mail but provide access to all information resources, provided by the world wide web.

Association of Young Leaders is working not only in Moscow and Moscow region, there are several AYL member organizations in various regions of Russian Federation, we closely cooperate with Association of Young Leaders of Kazahstan. You can learn more about it at the section “regions”.
